The web4log is an M2M cloud software that can be operated together with the control4log. The software can be obtained from TECHDOCK as a SaaS or operated as a self-hosted solution.
With the web4log software, data points can be automatically collected from the control4log (or other controllers) monitored, stored, and further processed via the Internet or on a local network. The software is subject to the permissive MIT open source license and can be obtained from info@techdock.ch. The web4log is implemented with PHP and can therefore be run by a host on a server, a NAS, or in a Docker container. A database is required for the software to be able to store the data and settings. A separate OpenVPN server must be operated to use VPN connections

The accumulated historical data can be used to better understand the behavior of a device, system, or machine over a long period of time, or to simply monitor them. This makes it possible, for example, to detect defects in devices, systems and machines at an early stage.
The data stored in the database can be easily visualized using a browser-based open source solution, such as Grafana, Graphite or others. With this solution, the connection to a modern visualization system is possible even for small projects with limited funds.
